Additionally, Connect:SM for Cloud Commerce enables customers to export report data in CSV format for analysis using 3rd party tools. When Simple is Not Enough - Configurable Workflow & Business Rules

Connect:SM's for Cloud Commerce's Core Services Platform includes a configurable workflow engine to enable businesses to adapt ordering, subscription billing and recurring payment workflow processes based on their individual requirements. Individual Core Platform Services are rules-driven and table-based to ensure maximum flexibility without custom programming. Note: Direct customer access to the workflow and rules engine capabilities requires the Connect:SM for Cloud Commerce Enterprise edition.

Usage Processing for Simple or Complex Recurring Transactions

Connect:SM for Cloud Commerce supports usage-based pricing and charging in addition to one-time and recurring charge transactions. Usage records can be based on any metered usage metric such as time on a site, gigabytes of data, number of reports generated, miles driven, events processed, or any other unit of measure. Two methods are available for handling usage processing based on the needs of the customer.

The default method involves receiving batch files that summarize usage and uses the billing engine logic to apply charges, discounts, etc. This approach addresses the needs of a many types of subscription and recurring revenue businesses that need to meter usage but do not need to maintain usage detail in the billing system or perform processes on individual records in real-time.

The second, optional, method involves using the real-time usage processing engine to collect, format, and route individual usage records real-time from any source to the Billing Platform or other downstream business systems such as a real-time rating and charging engine, data marts, fraud systems, provisioning systems, and others.
